Rokeya Shakhawat Nurannessa Khatun
Ashalota Sen Fazilatunnessa

Genetically humans are divided into two genders - men and women. But this issue of gender raises a great question today. From the beginning of the civilization men are playing the role of the peer of the realm and women of the slave of the same. From the western world to this 3rd world country, this act of showing power has become a culture where,” Men dominate and women resist ”. But how long can we resist?

In Europe Marry spoke and brought the light, in France there was Simon the Bivoa. But what about us? In this country where we don’t have the right to talk, the issue of freedom is a subject of dream. We can’t speak because our tongues have lost its naturalness. We are merely puppets and they are the players. But in a society like this there were some people who spoke against this kind of autocracy. They showed us the path, the path to become humans than spending days as women. They were born in different ages in different societies but worked for the same issue, the issue of becoming humans. From Rokeya till now many people are fighting for this right. There are many names. Each name includes a new block in the monument of liberty. Today we will let you know about some people who were considered as the base-constructors of this monument. They were the faces of liberty. Some information about them are given below:

Fazilatunnessa:

Born in 1905 at karotia, Fozilatunnessa was the first Muslim woman who went for higher study in England from this country. She did her S.S.C from Dhaka Iden School and H.S.C from Iden Collage. She graduated from Bathun Collage and completed her M.A. from Dhaka University in Mathematics. She was married to Mr. Shamshuzzoha in 1936. Fazilatunnessa tries to establish the equal right of both sexes in study. The university authority at first denied giving her scholarship but she struggled for it and managed the scholarship to go to England for higher study. Before the division she was the lecturer of Department of Mathematics in Bathun Collage. After the division she became the principal of Eden Collage (1948-1957). She breathed her last in 1977.

There are many others. We must know about them and follow the path they showed us. Someday we will achieve the success, which we are fighting for. Until that time our struggle will go on.
