* Does bleeding always take place in a virgin during the first intercourse?

** Many men are often foolish in their ideas about the hymen. The fact that a man seldom is sure whether a woman has or does not have a hymen. Some women have intercourse regularly and retain the hymen. In such cases the hymeneal membrane is large and pliable and merely pushes into the vagina ahead of the male member. Doctors have sometimes found this membrane in pregnant women.

The Introduction of birth control in 1960  revolutionized contraceptive practices around the world. Sources of Sexual Arousal

People interpret  their sexual responses in various ways body responds to sexual arousal are identical  whether the stimulation comes from  touching, kissing, intercourse, masturbation, fantasy, watching a movie, or reading a book. This statement does than dancing or playing the violin is " only" mechanical because certain parts of the body are involved in these activities. Human sexual response is multidimensional, with input from feelings and thoughts, learning and language, personal and cultural values, and many other sources combining  with our biological reflexes to create a total experience.

Evaluating Contraceptive

Effectiveness and Safety

The decision to use contraception and the  choice of one method over another depend primarily on two practical matters:

  • How well it works (its effectiveness) and

  • Its health risks (its safety).

Evaluating these two issues is complicated. No one contraceptive method is always best or safest.

The Prostate and Accessory Organ

The prostate gland normally about the size of a chestnut, consists of a muscular and a glandular portion. The prostate is located directly below the bladder and surrounds the urethra ( the tube through which urine passes) as it exits from the bladder. The relationship of the prostate to the urethra is like a large bead ( the prostate) on a string ( the urethra. Because the rectum ( the lowest part of the bowels) is directly behind the prostate, the prostate can be examined by a physicians during a rectal examination. This is important because the prostate can become infected or cancerous.

Safe Sex

Not too long ago, contraceptive products could not be displayed or sold in certain states, abortion were illegal and birth control methods were not very reliable. Although times have been changed remarkably, people are now faced a vast number of birth control products or methods, each with it's own advantages and disadvantages.

The Scrotum

The scrotum is a thin loose sac of skin underneath the penis that is sparsely covered with pubic hair and contains the testicles [testes]. The scrotum has a layer of muscle fibers that contract involuntarily as a result of sexual stimulation, exercise, or exposure to cold, causing the testes to be   drawn up against the body. In hot weather, the scrotum relaxes and allows the testes to hang more freely away from the body. These reflexes of the    scrotum help to maintain a stable temperature in the testes, an important function because sperm production [occurring in the testes] is impaired by heat or cold.

Sex Determination

Many simple one celled animals are unisex: each one reproduces itself by splitting into two cells identical with their parent. man and other complex animals breed differently. Such species contain males and females. Special cells from a male and female fuse to produce a cell that shares hereditary material from both its parents. This cell multiplies by splitting to give rise to an adult organism identical with neither  parent. So sexual reproduction produces countless permutations of individuals. This means there are likely to be some able to endure changes to their surroundings that kill most of the rest. Sex then, is an ingenious biological device to help a species to survive in a changing world.

The penis-- The end part

The appearance of the penis varies considerably from one male to another. These variations are due to differences in color, size, shape and status of the foreskin (circumcised or uncircumcised).

Concerns about penile size are common in males of all ages. Although the size of the nonerect penis differs widely from one male to another (the average length is approximately 9.5 centimeters or just under 4inches), in adulthood this variation is less apparent in the erect state. Erection can be thought of as “the great equalizer” since men with a penis that is smaller when flaccid (nonerect) usually have a larger percentage volume increase during erection than men who have a larger flaccid penis. Such interest in penis size has several different components.

The Penis

The male sex organs are more visible and accessible than the female sex organs. Unlike the clitoris or vagina the penis is involved directly in the process of urination so that boys become accustomed to touching and handling their penises at a relatively early age. The sexual aspects of male organ are hard for a boy to miss. He learns about them by watching , touching, and playing with his penis as it becomes erect (pleasurable experience) or by hearing stories and jokes that graphically portray the sexual and reproductive purposes of the penis. Despite such exposure, many males are not fully informed about the details of the anatomy and function of their sex organs.

Female Sexual Anatomy

The Breasts

Although the breasts are not reproductive organs, they are clearly part of sexual anatomy. There is a common fallacy that  big- breasted female has become an almost universal sex symbol, but there that a woman with large breasts has definite sexual advantage. This has led to number of harmful misconception. For example, men and women alike come to believe that the larger a woman’s breasts are, the more sexually excitable she is or can become. Another fallacy, still firmly subscribe to by many men, holds that the relatively flat-chested woman is less able to respond sexually and actually has little, if any, interest in sex.

The Vagina and Internal Sex Organs

The uterus (womb) is a hollow muscular organ shaped like an inverted pear somewhat flattened front to back. It is about 7.5 centimeters (3 inches) long and 5 centimeters (2 inches) wide. Anatomically the uterus consists of several parts. The inside lining of the uterus (the endometrium) and the muscular component of the uterus (the myometrium) have separate and distinct functions.

The Vagina and Other Internal Sex Organs

The vagina is a muscular internal organ that tilts upward at a 45 degree angle diagonally pointed toward the small of the back. In the sexually unstimulated state, the vagina’s walls are collapsed. In a woman who has never had a child, the back wall of the vagina averages 8 centimeters (about 3 inches) in length, while the front wall is approximately 6 centimeters (2 and ½ inches) long.

The Vulva

The external sex organs of the female, called the vulva (meaning “covering”), consist of the mons, the labia, the clitoris, and the perineum.

The mons veneris (Latin:mound of venus: Venus was the Roman goddess of love ) is the area over the public bone that consists of cushion of fatty tissue covered by skin and pubic hair. Since this region has numerous nerve endings, touch or pressure here may lead to sexual arousal. Many women find that stimulation of the mons area can be pleasurable as direct clitoral touch.

Sexual Anatomy

Karen is a twenty years old girl felt her breasts were too small. She wrote: I hate looking in a mirror or wearing a bathing suit because I see how flat I am. I would mortified to let a guy touch or see my breasts.

Brad is an athletic seventeen years old that quit his schools basketball teams because his breasts were large. He told us that his teammates kidded him mercilessly in the locker room and showers about when he was going to get a bra. He was afraid he might turn into woman.

A married couple in their mid-twenties who were sex therapy patients said they frequently used stimulation of the clitoris as part of making love. When asked to identify the clitoris during a physical exam, the husband pointed to a large freckle on the lower part of his wife’s labia major.
