UC is a large,
multi-disciplinary institution offering courses of a professional nature
that relate closely to the educational requirements of employers and
registered professional bodies worldwide. The University offers courses in over 100
disciplines ranging from architecture and design to medical laboratory
science and computer engineering. The institution has been in existence
since 1978 and was proclaimed a University through an act of Parliament in
1989.The University is situated in Canberra, a safe, clean, well-planned
city with a population of approximately 300,000 and is about 200 miles
southwest of Sydney. Canberra is about 3.5 hours drive from Sydney or can
be reached by regular air, coach and rail services.
