be mother of  a cute baby daughter . But she had a fear of
              but curious about pregnancy periods.

              She
saw some among her relatives becoming mother silently
and some of them had to suffer a lot. Now she is observing her
elder sister who is expecting her first child. There are so many
anxiousness, expectations, dreams, advise of doctors and so on -- all are

              How
can I be confirm that am pregnant ?

              These
days, we have very sensitive pregnancy tests which can tell
whether you are pregnant even before you have missed your period,
and definitely with more certainty,  after four or five days
of having missed your  period. These include urine tests,
              blood tests and transnational sonography.

              How
              much weight should I gain?

              Most
women gain from 12.5kg to 15.9kg ( 25-35Ib), 70 percent in the last
              20 weeks . The fetus weighs 3.4kg ( 7lb); placenta and fluid,
around 1.5 kg ( 3lb); the rest is water and fat ( maternal store
concentrated around your backside to provide balance- otherwise
you'd topple over! It also gives extra energy for labor. Its a
myth that you're eating for two , but you should eat a balanced
diet ( as per Canada's Food Guide to Heating ) supplemented with
              folic acid, iron and calcium.

              What
other changes will my body go through?

              Breasts
get larger and very sensitive, and nipples darken, It's hard to
say exactly who will get stretch marks , ( usually on thighs, breasts,
and abdomen ); it's partly genetic and more likely earth twins or
triplets, Age doesn't have anything to do with it severe stretch
marks can be seen on teenagers, Some women get a linea negra, a
dark line of color ( pigment change ) , from pubic bone to
somewhere above the belly button . Some get the mask of pregnancy
on the face for bathrooms . This  is worse in the first three
months ( when the uterus is putting pressure on the bladder ); and
the last  three months ( when baby is putting on the
              pressure).

              Edema
( swelling) is common , especially in the fingers and ankles; it
improves with rest,. but make sure you report this to your doctor.
It can be a sight that something is not quite
              right.

              Why
do some women bleed in the pregnancy period ? Is it always

              indication of abortion?

              Bleeding
may occur in early pregnancy if the embryo gets detached which is
referred to as threatened abortion or inevitable abortion,
depending on the extent of  detachment. Sometimes, a part of
it comes out, which is called  incomplete abortion. There
will be bleeding in all these cases. Some of  these
pregnancies will  have to be terminated by  suction evacuation.
Sometimes, the detached portion may seal off  and the
baby will continue to grow. There could be bleeding  if the
placenta covers the  mouth of the uterus, partially or fully.
The mother may go into premature labor in this  case. High
blood  pressure could  cause the placenta to get
detached, which is  dangerous for the fetus. A caesarian
will  have to be done  to save the baby at this
              stage.

              Will
              I have morning sickness?

              Some,
not all, women gave nausea ( and  not just in the morning )
that usually goes away after three month . Eat small, frequent
meals and drink plenty of  fluids. Dry relaxation of the
closing between throat and stomach, eliminate greasy and highly
spiced foods and slightly elevate the head of the bed. Sip mild
and take antacids if they help.

              If
you are suffering from severe morning sickness, speak to doctor
about a new medication which was recently approved by health
              Canada.
