June 27 (UNB) – A man was sentenced to 10 years rigorous
imprisonment by a court here recently in an arms case.
The
convict was identified as Tarek Sheikh of village Bhabanipur in Rupsa
upazila.
The
case history in brief: Police, acting on a tip-off, raided a house in
the village and arrested Tarek along with a firearm on Nov 29,1998.
Later,
the investigating officer upon completion of his investigation
submitted charge sheet against Tarek.
After
examining the records and witnesses, the Judge pronounced the verdict
on Monday.
