Chittagong, May 17 (UNB) – A clash between shop owners and lessees of Thakurdighi bazar in Lohagara upazila left at least 10 people injured today (Wednesday).

Police said the clash ensued at 11 am when the lessees under police protection went to the bazar to collect contract money from the shop owners.

Both the parties pelted brickbats to each other during the half-an hour clash. Two of the injured were admitted to the Chittagong Medical College Hospital.

Police fired 10 rounds of blank shots to disperse the warring groups and brought the situation under control.
