Chiba University

Established as a national university in 1949,Chiba University has truly become a great university in Japan offering a broad range of studies. Chiba University is made up of educational and research facilities in addition to its nine faculties and eight graduate schools, and even among those national universities with a faculty of 2,586 and a student body of 14,625, 
Moreover, there are 672 international students hailing from 56 nations (including two regions), the majority from Asia, who are diligently pursuing their studies at Chiba University.

Academic year

The academic year of Chiba University begins on April 1 and finishes on March 31 of the following year. The academic year is divided into semesters as noted below.
First semester: From April 1 to September 30
Second semester: From October 1 to March 31 of the following year.

 

Matriculation 

The matriculation periods of Chiba University are as follows:
Undergraduate programs: The beginning of the academic year
Graduate programs: As a rule, at the beginning of the academic year
Research students: As a rule, at the beginning of the academic year or the beginning of the semester
