Dear Prof. Yunus, I don't quite see your vision in politics yet. I salute you as a pioneer to bring new dimension to fight against poverty. However, as a pioneer, you did take advantages to charge very high interest in a monopoly market. Now that we see more NGOs working in the same field, hopefully, poor will suffer less. I can't link the explanation that Grameen needs to charge higher interest to cover it's operational cost when their collection rates are more than 98%. Other commercial banks have much lower collection rate as well as interest rate, and still making profit. I am not getting into details. However, with my several years of experience in a highly expensive labor market in USA, it is very hard for me to believe such high rates to cover expenses. I also agree with your critics who says you may use your already established business to gain political benefit and vice verse. We are already seeing some NGOs taking the benefits of their establishments. You mentioned about your interest in establishing political party earlier and was silent during the early stage of the caretaker government. Now that you see current government may stay longer, you are making your move to position your party for next election. I think, you are a very successful businessman and pioneer- and you seek opportunities. Being said so; I am not saying our existing political parties are not opportunists. They are by all means the worst. Before supporting your move, I would like to see if there are other parties involved or have interest behind your party. I don't consider myself a TULSI PATA. So, I will grab and retain all benefits or awards given to me or to our country. Meaning, I will be humbled and proud for your awards. However, will try to analyze internally-- - was there any interest of any foreign country or countries? Or, any special Group? Why weren't you awarded prize for Economics? Why were you awarded for charging interest? Why do people in foreign countries talk about Islam and Interest and your project? What kind of line they have in mind to draw? Was it your own voice about the Chittagong port? Or, did you just act as a delivery person? I am not ruling out the benefit of decentralization of the port? However, I would definitely expect more discussions between parties and scholars before making such public comment. Otherwise, I will try to connect the dots of your achievements and deliveries. I believe we are looking for someone who will show true and unconditional intension to serve the country. I am not saying true love for the country. All parties claim they have love for the country. The situation reminds me of the story we read in our school 'Somoyer Proyojoney'. We look forward to see some one who would make move like Dr. Fakruddin and current military leaders. I think these are the people who are stepping in with true intention to help the country. Frankly, I don't see it in you Prof. Yunus yet and would strongly suggest you against it. I am sure, it would not change your decision to start a political party. But, at least I can express my opinion since you have asked for it. We don’t want to compromise just because we are frustrated with existing parties. This will result in nothing but what we saw with Bangla Bhai. Our media and portion of us welcomed him when he was after SORBOHARA. Now, what do we get? Once again, we salute you, we are proud of you, and we honor you. But, I don't think we are really sure of your intentions in politics yet. Thus we want you not to get involved in this.
