BELGRADE (AP) - A Yugoslav military court extended the detention of two Britons and two Canadians arrested on suspicion of terrorism for another month, their lawyer said Sunday.

Belgrade attorney Djordje Djurisic, representing those arrested, told The Associated Press that the army gave another month of detention, following the prosecutor's demand for more time to investigate the four, Canadians Shaun Going and Liam Hall and Britons Adrian Prangnell and John Yore.

"This second extension is completely unfounded," Djurisic said, adding the defense would submit a complaint with the military court Monday.

The detention of the four was already extended once, until Sept. 30, Djurisic said.

The men were detained Aug. 1 on the border between Montenegro and Kosovo, after vacationing on the Montenegrin coast. They were on their way back to the southern Serbian province where the two Britons trained local police for the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe.

A Yugoslav army patrol stopped them, searched their car and arrested the four after discovering what was described as explosives-related material in the trunk. One of the four, Going, later claimed that the material was left over from his work as contractor in Kosovo, but the military launched an investigation on possible espionage and terrorism charges.

In early September, the military judge demanded a report from the United Nations and NATO peacekeepers in Kosovo on the activities of the men there.

Djurisic said that the defense had already provided this data to the court.

The four men were, however, moved out of solitary confinement and placed together in one room last month, at the request of their lawyers.

Two months after their arrest, the four still have not been formally charged because of the allegedly incomplete investigation.
