Dhaka-- (UNB) - The Cabinet at a meeting yesterday endorsed in principle a number of proposals, including the drafts of Livestock Disease Act 2001 and Livestock Quarantine Act 2001.

The approval was given at the weekly meeting of the Council of Ministers at the PM office with Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina in the chair.

The cabinet approved the proposal of formation of Municipal Development Fund to help attract private investment for funding various development projects of municipalities in a bid to reduce dependence on government.

The proposal of the Architect Act was also endorsed at the meeting.

Besides, the cabinet approved the agreement between Bangladesh and Australia signed for the development and protection of capital investment.

Ministers and sate ministers in charge of different ministries attended the meeting.

Cabinet Secretary, Principal Secretary to the Prime Minister and concerned secretaries were present, said an official release.
