Dhaka-- (UNB) – Bangladesh Bank has suspended distribution of high demanding newly issued polymer notes of Tk 10 denomination from Tuesday due to short supply.

Adequate notes will be issued to the market from all offices of the bank sometime next month through announcement after the full consignment reaches the country, said a press release.

The central bank regretted temporary inconvenience of the people.

The first consignment of 4.8 million notes, out of total 50 million, reached here from Australia on December 7, sources said.
