Finance Minister urges to accelerate loan disbursement |

Habiganj--(UNB) – Finance Minister Shah AMS Kibria yesterday warned the government officials of stern action if they are found involved in corruption or irregularities. Addressing a review meeting on development activities of the district, he called upon the officials to carry out development works smoothly. Prime Minister’s Advisor on Parliamentary Affairs Suranjit Sengupta, Dewan Farid Gazi MP, Enamul Haq Mostofa Shahid MP and Husne Ara Wahid MP attended, among others, in the meeting held at the deputy commissioner’s conference room. The minister directed the officials concerned to accelerate agricultural loan disbursement and realization in the district and remain alert of irregularities and corruption. He also called for greater involvement of people’s representatives in the development activities. District officials informed the meeting that the district would be made illiteracy-free by next year under the ongoing total literacy movement. They also said construction work of 7 community clinics in the district already completed while 83 others is expected to be completed by January next year, said an official handout. Development activities in telecommunications, LGED, health, education and other sectors also came up for discussion. |
