Chief Executive of Asian PO visits Bangladesh |

Dhaka-- (UNB) – Industries Minister Tofail Ahmed called for raising productivity in industrial units both in public and private sectors to make them competitive with the fast-moving outer world. His advice came while talking to the visiting Chief Executive of Asian Productivity Organization (APO), Takashi Tajima, at his official residence here yesterday. APO Director General has been now in Dhaka on a three-day visit to see for himself the progress of productivity development activities in Bangladesh. The Tokyo-based Asia-Pacific organization, APO was established in 1952 and currently has 18 member countries of the region, including Bangladesh. Productivity, said the minister, has been one of the top agenda in the national industrial policy. “Bangladesh will be benefited more if APO organizes some funds and provide technical assistance for implementing more productivity development activities.” He apprised the APO Chief Executive of the activities of APO society in Bangladesh to build up productivity awareness among the entrepreneurs and employees. |
