Poème de Baudelaire...for ima moni
Description:

Evening harmony

Here come the moments when, quivering on its stem,
each flower gives off fragrance like a censer;
the sounds and perfumes circle in the evening air,
a melancholy waltz, a languid dizziness!

Each flower gives off fragrance like a censer;
the violin trembles like a heart in distress,
a melancholy waltz, a languid dizziness!
The sky is sad and beautiful like a vast altar.

The violin trembles like a heart in distress,
a tender heart, which hates the huge, dark void!
The sky is sad and beautiful like a vast altar;
the sun has drowned in its own congealing blood.

A tender heart, which hates the huge, dark void,
gathers up every relic of the harmonious past!
The sun has drowned in its own congealing blood, -
the memory of you shines in me like a monstrance!

ima, this poem(dedicated to u) is touching.... that relic of a harmonius past, does it haunt you or does it give u a smile ? the memory that shines like a monstrance...does that monstrance bring coldness ? or is it a rush of warmth within you ?

Jaceco, Charles Baudelaire is one of my favourite poet and “Harmonie du soir” (Evening Harmoney) is one of my fav poem, I also love La mort des amants (The death of the Lovers). Just reading it brings back memories, good ones of course. The memory that shines like a monstrance, it always brings a rush of warmth within me. I can still remember few lines in French … Voici venir les temps où vibrant sur sa tige, Chaque fleur s'évapore ainsi qu'un encensoir;Les sons et les parfums tournent dans l'air du soir. Gondogol bhai, I must say I am pleasantly surprised to see u post such a wonderful poem. Thank u very much for the poem. Perhaps u can post some of Pablo Neruda’s work (I think his original name was Neftali Ricardo Reyes Basoalto). Just a personal request (to gondogol bhai), gondogol na kore apni shob shomoi aei rokhom jinish post korben. I also think u should apologise to cluster.
