Mountain in the Mist - Observation and Reflection
Description:

Truth is self-evident. It can never get lost. It can be kept hidden momentarily beneath the veil of secrecy. But it always reappears and resurfaces because of its very intrinsic nature.

It was a misty morning. I looked up at the mountains. But it wasn’t there. It disappeared – it’s jagged peaks, the ponderosa pines and the tall aspens, all had simply vanished. It disappeared behind the veil of a misty blue haze as it often happens during this time of the year. In my mind I always knew that the mountains were still there, it just wasn’t visible. What if there wasn’t any mountain, would I have felt this way, certainly not. I wouldn’t even have looked up to gaze upon it. But I knew the imposing structure of the nature was still there, because it stunned me before. So, the day rolled into the night, I looked up again and there it was, stretching magnificently toward the heavens in the moonlit night. The haze had long gone, the mountains remained and it will.

Disclaimer: This is a pseudo philosophy (so they say). I don’t keep looking at the mountains all day long as I have other things to do. I do occasionally gaze upon it, because it is there and it’s beautiful.

We take comfort everyday on knowing some constants - unpleasent or not. The sun will rise in the east each morning, things will fall down to earth if dropped and disorder tends to grow as time passes unless an effort is made. We dont think of ourselves living on a tiny tiny blue dot in a vast seemingly infinite darkness or worry about the uncertainity principle. Knowledge is like a double-edge sword .. sometimes.
