Subject:
what is a man and what is a woman??!!
Description:

Everyone is born male or female and our sex can be detiremined simply by looking at us when we are born. But every culture has it's ways of valuing girls and boys and assigning them different roles, responsibities, responses and attributes. Each society transforms a male or female in to a a man or a women, into masculine and feminine, with different qualities, behavious patterns, roles, responsibilites, rights and expectations. Unlike sex, which is biological, the gender in identities of women and men are psychologically and and socially- which means historically and culturally determined.

Ana Oakley who was one of the few scholars in this subject says" Gender is a matter of culture, it refers to the social classification of men and women into masculine and feminine.

Now let us see, what are the process of making a man and a women. The process through the gender of a newborn is determined, aclls a process of socialisation or gendering. According to Ruth Hartly, Socialisation takes place through four process, manipulation, Canalisation, verbal appellation and activity exposer. All these process are normally differented by ses and all are features of childs socialisation from birth on.
