KARACHI, Pakistan (AP) — A powerful bomb exploded in a congested market in southern Karachi Friday, killing a child and injuring 10 other people, police said. No one took responsibility for the bomb, which shattered windows in nearby apartment buildings. Police suspect attackers were targeting the offices of a radical Islamic group fighting in Indian-ruled Kashmir.

The bomb, hidden beneath a shopping cart, was the sixth to rock Pakistan in the last one week. On Monday bombs exploded in four different cities injuring 45 people. On Wednesday a fifth bomb exploded.

The Pakistani authorities have blamed uneasy neighbor India for the previous explosions. The disputed Kashmir region is the most contentious issue between the two neighbors, who have fought two wars over it. Both India and Pakistan lay claim to a united Kashmir, which is divided between the two countries.

India accuses Pakistan of fomenting violence on its Kashmir territory, a charge denied by Pakistan. However most of the militant groups waging war in Indian-ruled Kashmir are headquartered in Pakistan.
