Study supports link between sleep apnea, high blood pressure

CHICAGO, APR 12 (AP) - The breathing disorder known as sleep apnea may raise the risk of high blood pressure, researchers say.     

Sleep apnea is characterized by brief pauses in breathing during sleep and is usually accompanied by loud snoring. The disorder is more common in people who are obese.

New kidney diagnostic and treatment center in Banani

Dhaka, Apr 11 (UNB)- A new kidney diagnostic and treatment center to treat patients at a minimum charge was inaugurated in Banani here recently.

The center named Renal Hope, was set up by the Revival of Islamic Heritage Society, a Kuwaiti NGO in Dhaka, with the financial assistance of Patients Helping Fund of Kuwait, said a Kuwaiti Embassy press release today.

Seniors without drug coverage pay more for prescriptions

WASHINGTON, APR 10 (AP) - Presenting another argument for adding drug coverage to a federal health care program, the White House released a study showing Americans without prescription coverage spend at least 15 percent more for their medicines than what insurers pay.
