24 more admitted to hospital with Dengue

Dhaka (UNB) - Twenty-four more patients with symptoms of dengue fever were admitted to Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH) yesterday.


Clinical test showed that 9 of them are carrying dengue virus while test of others was in process, hospital sources said.


Ward No 4 (Dengue Ward) having capacity of 32 is now overcrowded with 82 patients who came from different parts of the country.


Informed sources said attending doctors are asking the patients to get their stool, urine, blood etc tested at specific laboratories and thus earning money as commission. Tests cost patients around Tk800 irrespective of rich and poor.


Four people died of dengue fever at DMCH last week.
