28 admitted to hospital with Dengue in a day

Dhaka (UNB) - Twenty-eight people with dengue fever were admitted to Dhaka Medical College Hospital yesterday (Sunday).


A separate ward was opened in the hospital for treatment of dengue patients with Prof Tafail Ahmed as its head.


With them, 58 patients are now in DMCH, in Ward No 4, which has a capacity of 32 beds.


Four people died of dengue fever in DMCH last week.


The patients reported yesterday to the hospital came from different parts of Dhaka city, Narayanganj, Habiganj, Khulna, Savar, Sirajganj, Sherpur and Keraniganj.


Patients complained of itching, pain and swelling of body and vomiting tendency.
