Dhaka (UNB) - The growing panic over dengue fever has prompted Dhaka City Corporation (DCC) to intensify its drive in its all 90 wards to kill the disease-carrying aedes mosquitoes.

Directed by city Mayor Mohamamd Hanif, executive officers of DCC's 10 regions are supervising the aedes control drive while the mayor himself is monitoring the activities.

Meanwhile, Mayor Hanif instructed the concerned officials to clean up the drains and stagnant water bodies of the city on an emergency basis and warned them of dire consequences for negligence of duty.

He urged the city dwellers to maintain cleanliness around their residences, according to a DCC press release.
