Dhaka-- (UNB) - Stevens Institute of Technology, a renowned technology university of USA, will soon set up five Arsenic Mitigation Technology Centres in Bangladesh aiming at resolving arsenic problem in the country.
A Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) to this effect was signed on the institute campus in New York on Tuesday.
President of the Institute Harold J Raveche and Managing Director of Earth Identity Project Nasrin R Karim signed the agreement on behalf of their respective sides.
After completion of the project, the centres would be able to distribute 1,000 gallons of arsenic-free water to the people per day and supply small-sized plants among the people in the arsenic-affected areas at low cost.
