Dhaka-- (UNB) – Health Minister Sheikh Fazlul Karim Selim yesterday called upon the doctors to work with sincerity and dedication for successful implementation of the National Health Policy.
He particularly advised the members of Bangladesh Medical Association (BMA) to work for the purpose with a view to reaching improved healthcare facilities to the doorsteps of the common people.
The minister was speaking as chief guest in a seminar on Implementation of National Health Policy organised by the BMA at its office.
Chaired by BMA president Prof Dr Rashid-e-Mahbub, the seminar was also addressed, among others, by BMA secretary general Dr Mostafa Jalal Mohiuddin, Prof Moazzem Hossain and Dr Sharfuddin Ahmed.
The Health Minister said the government has already identified main problems of the health sector that hindered the development processes.
“Now the government has been developing the health infrastructure in rural areas to ensure primary health and family planning services to the rural people,” he added.
He said the government has formulated the National Health Policy for ensuring improved healthcare for the people because getting better healthcare is a constitutional right of them.
