Dhaka- (UNB) – The first round of the 9th National Immunization Day (NID) will be held on April 8 while the second round on May 13.
This was decided at a meeting of the National Steering Committee on NID here yesterday with Health Minister Sheikh Fazlul Karim Selim in the chair.
The meeting decided to find out the children who were earlier left out to administer them polio vaccines during the coming drives.
It emphasised coordinated efforts of NGOs, local leaders to make the 9th NID a success and thus eradicate polio from the country.
The meeting also reviewed the last 8th NID that achieved 91 percent of its target.
State Minister for Health Prof Dr M Amanullah, Secretary Sayed Alamgir Farrouk Chowdhury, representatives from UNICEF, City Corporations, donor agencies, concerned line directors and senior officials of the ministry were present.
