London,(UNB) - London NH Trust Hospital authorities have introduced new uniform for Muslim nurses considering their religious sentiment.

The uniform will cover upto to the heel of the body instead of knee, and elbow. Along side this, wearing of scarf would also be allowed.

The design of the new uniform is being displayed at the Islamic Art and Cultural Exhibition began in London from Sunday (November 5).

"The trust has adopted the decision considering the huge number of Muslim patients in a number of hospitals, including Royal Hospital in East London, and religious sentiments of Muslim nurses," said a high official of the trust.

Local Bangladeshi and other Muslim community leaders hailed the NH Trust decision.
