68 died of Dengue so far

Dhaka (UNB) – Some 3,837 people were afflicted by dengue fever since it broke out in July of whom 68 died.


Considering the gravity of the situation of the disease a high level meeting yesterday finalised a 5-year plan to prevent and control dengue fever. Health and Family Welfare Minister Sheikh Fazlul Karim Selim presided.


The plan includes special training on dengue fever, strengthening management system and research to improve dengue hammoragic treatment, said a handout.


The meeting decided to destroy all breeding grounds of aedes mosquitoes and strengthening mass awareness among the people about dengue.


It sought all-out cooperation and support of the Dhaka City Corporation.


Health Secretary, DG Health Services and Directors of all hospitals and Medical colleges attended the meeting.
