Dinajpur-- (UNB) – Construction Dinajpur Medical College has been completed at a cost of Tk 58 crore, which included medical apparatus and equipment for the students.

 

Minister for Health and Family Welfare Sheikh Fazlul Karim Selim yesterday visited the newly built medical college at Ananda Sagar.

 

Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina will formally inaugurate the college soon.

 

The Health Minister went round different sections of the college and expressed satisfaction at early completion of the work.

 

Later, he had a meeting with the health officials, teachers and students in the college auditorium.

 

Health Minister said the government has been implementing a five-year-programme at a cost of TK 15,500 crore aimed at reaching health services at the doors of the rural people.

 

He urged the doctors to serve the ailing people with utmost sincerity and dedication and ensure better health care for the commonman.

 

The Health Minister also highlighted the achievement of the present government in the health and population sector and urged the students to dedicate themselves with a commitment to serve the humanity.

 

Earlier, he visited Syedpur 50-bed hospital, Dinajpur Sadar hospital and regional diabetic hospital and went round different wards and talked to the patients.

 

He made on the spot sanction of necessary fund for extension of the Dinajpur Sadar hospital to make it spacious.

 

State Minister for Post and Telecommunication Abdur Rouf Chowdhury, Whip Mizanur Rahman Manu, former MP Abdur Rahim and local leaders spoke at the function.
