Nurses’ strike continues |

Dhaka-- (UNB)- Nurses of Seba Institute of Dhaka Medical College Hospital continued their work abstention programme yesterday hampering medicare services of the hospital. The nurses began the strike Sunday afternoon following a clash with the fourth class employees over food supply at the hostel. The authorities yesterday suspended a fourth clash employee Shahin and a student nurse Sumona Akhter Parvin for their involvement in the brawl. Aggrieved by the suspension notice, Sumona along with some other nurses swooped on House Tutor Momtaz Begum and manhandled her. The nurses demanded removal of the principal of the institute, Fatema Begum, chief assistant Abdullah, and punishment of the responsible staff. On the other hand, the employees have been demanding cancellation of the studentship of those nurses responsible for creating the trouble. |
