Dhaka, Sept 8 (UNB) - Bangladesh youth team suffered a 3-1 defeat against Oman in their second group match in the final round of the 9th Asian Youth Under-16 Football Championship in Vietnam today (Friday).

The match was locked 1-1 in the first half.

Ujjal put Bangladesh ahead early in the 4th minute, but the joy was short-lived as Al Bulishi (2) restored parity for Oman only after six minutes.

However, Tutul and Sumon missed two easy chances in the first half within seven minutes, according to a faxed message.

Shikairi netted the second goal for Oman in the 66th minute. Azmi completed the winners’ tally in the 85th minute.

Bangladesh juvenile team got two more chances in the second half, but Dalim failed to score despite open net while a Ujjal volley was saved by Oman’s custodian.

Bangladesh, who started their campaign on a happy note beating Kuwait by a solitary goal, will play their next match against Iran on Sunday and their last group-B match against Thailand on Sept 12.

Bangladesh: Munna, Siraji, Kochi, Mohan, Ruku, Tareq, Polo, Sumon (Masud/Kawsar), Tutul, Ujjal (Surat) and Dalim.
