Dhaka (UNB) – An injury time goal by Asif enabled Muktijoddha Sangsad KS to earn hard-fought 1-0 goal win over Brothers Union in a crucial NBL Premier Division Football League match at the Bangabandhu National Stadium here yesterday (Thursday).


With the day’s outcome, Muktijoddha Sangsad KC maintained the all-win record in their second league outings after beating Rahmatganj MFS by 3-0 goals while it was the first defeat for Brothers Union in their second league engagements after a 1-0 win over Arambagh KS.


Substitute booter Asif scored the match-winning goal for the freedom fighters team in the third minutes of the injury time by a close-range header off Masud Rana free kick from right wing with the frustration of he Gopibagh team.


Three Nepalese footballers-studded Brothers Union displayed an entertaining football against five national booters and Indian striker based Muktijoddja Sangsad till the last whistle.


Both the teams spoiled a series of chances in the day’s keenly contested match.


In the very 4th minute, Bijoyan failed to kick properly from a goal mouth melee.


Muktijoddha defender Masud Rana saved his castle twice in the 38th minute foiling the repeated attempts of Monir and Hari Khadha from goal line.


Brothers’ goalie Tony made a brilliant save in the 48th minute by good dive to foil a good header of Mukti forward Farhad.


In the 62nd minute, Muktijoddha was deprived from a goal when a good free kick of Indian striker Bijoyan hit the side bar.


Muktijoddha national custodian Aminul saved a good shot of Brothers Nepalese striker Basanta Thapa in the 72nd minute.


Yellow cards : Shahjada, Shabbu and Monir (Brothers).


Muktijoddha SKC : Aminul, Hasan Al Mamun, Rajani,, Prodeep, Masud Rana, Samsher (Asif), Mintoo, Tusher, Liton (Raju), Farhad (Jony) and Bijoyan.


Brothers Union : Tony, Shahjada, Chanchall, Palash, Shabbu, Prasanta, Bal Gopal Mohajan, Parvez, Milan (Monir), Hari Khadka and Basanta Thapa.
