Dhaka, Sept 22 (UNB) - With record number of spot kicks, Dhanmondi Club upset title aspirants Muktijoddha Sangsad by 11-10 goals in sudden death in the NBL Premier Division Football League at the Bangabandhu National Stadium today (Friday).

The match rolled into tiebreaker after the regulation time ended 1-1. The random spot kicks came to an end as Muktijodhha captain Rajani shot wide and Dhanmondi striker Manju placed the ball correctly inside the net.

Both custodians - Bijon and Nuruzzaman Nayan - had to take the spot kicks, but failed to score.

With the day's frustrating one point, freedom fighters team secured 15 points while lowly Dhanmondi bagged six points from six matches.

Dhanmondi Club deservedly earned two points in the day's match displaying better performance against their much stronger opponents.

After a barren first half, Asif put Muktijoddha Sangsad ahead in the 7th minute of the second half from a Mintu right-side lob.

Dhanmondi striker Manju restored parity in the 22nd minute of the second scoring from a goal mouth melee off a Parvez corner.

Both teams got one opportunity each in the first half.

Manju missed a sitter just before the lemon break as his miscued shot from Asad cross went wide despite open net. Earlier, Asif spoiled a chance for Muktijodhha shooting wide from close off a left-side cross by Farhad.

In the day's other premier division match, Farashganj Sporting Club recorded second straight win beating another promotee Victoria SC by 2-1 goals.

Alamgir put the winners ahead in the 36th minute, but Tutu levelled the margin for the losers in the 82nd minute. And after only a minute, Jalal scored the match decider for Farashganj.
