Dhaka (UNB) - Abahani Limited earned an incredible 5-1 goals victory over Usha Kriara Chakra in the Green Delta Premier Division Hockey League at the Maulana Bhasani National Hockey Stadium yesterday.

The illustrious Dhanmondi outfit found their rhythm in their previous match against Ajax SC after a poor start and continued the pace yesterday (Wednesday) against mighty Usha KC.

They are now two-point behind Mohammedan SC securing 16 points from six matches as they earlier shared point with lowly Sonali Bank.

Title aspirants Usha KC bagged 15 points from same number of outings after tasting their first defeat in yesterday's match.

Pakistani Selim Amir struck twice while Mirajul Ahsan, Muksed Alam and Giasuddin Rubel scored one each for the winners. Moududur Rahman Shuvo netted for the losers.

The day's prestigious match was locked 1-1 after Abahani Limited, trailing by one goal, made the equaliser just before the lemon break whistle.

Shuvo put Usha ahead in the ninth minute in a goal mouth melee from their first penalty corner after their opponents earlier failed to capitalize two great opportunities.

Selim Amir relieved the traditional blue-sky team just one minute ahead of the break as his clean hit from a penalty corner kissed the net after Alamgir pushed the ball and Mirajul stopped it.

The whole scenario was changed for Usha KC as they lost their temperament after swallowing the second goal in the third minute of the second half from a penalty stroke.

Abahani got the penalty stroke as opposition defender Mamun saved a sure hit of Rubel flying his streak over shoulder.

But Usha appealed to Indian umpire Arup Goshwami that the decision was wrong. Later Usha captain Kamal said that they had lost their mood after that goal.

Specially, Usha's Pakistani playmaker Saqlain looked totally high-tempered and engaged in bargaining with the umpires in several occasions.

They succumbed to a big blunder, which helped Abahani extend their tally and take control over the match in the 12th minute of the second half.

Selim Amir made the goal when the ball reached home deflecting his streak from a Rubel hit but opposition defenders and goalie thought it was a direct hit from outside the danger zone.

Muksed Alam netted the fourth goal for the winners as his nice diving hit from handshake distance found the net from an Amir Selim pass.

Just few minutes ahead of the long whistle, Rubel completed the second half goal fiesta reaching the target from a Mohammad Khalid minus.
