Dhaka (UNB) - National medio Mamun Joarder bids farewell to football today (Wednesday) through a match between Mohammedan SC and Muktojodda Sangsad in the 16th Federation Cup Football Tournament.

 

Mamun, who called for national team in 1989, will announce his retirement playing for Muktojoddha Sangsad in the last group match of the tournament.

 

He has been playing in the country’s renowned clubs after debuting in 1985 in the first division with Azad Sporting Club but earlier in 1984 he got chance to play in under-16 national team.

 

Mamun started his football career at his hometown in Chuadanga through local Athletics Club in 1983.

 

In his eight years career in national side, Mamun toured eleven countries, including China, Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Bahrain, UAE, Korea, Pakistan, Singapore, Sri Lanka, India, Thailand, Japan and Myanmar.
