Federation Cup’s round robin league begin |

Dhaka (UNB) – The eight-team round robin league of the 16th Federation Cup Football tourney, the main battle of the season’s curtain raiser soccer meet, begins today (Friday) at the Bangabandhu National Stadium. Badda Jagarani Sangsad will play the inaugural match with Arambagh KS at 3:30pm while Holders Abahani Limited will meet Shantinagar Club at 5.30pm in the other match of the day. On the next day (Saturday), Muktijoddha Sangsad will face Rahmatganj MFS at 3.30pm while league champions Mohammedan SC will play against Prantik KC at 5.30 PM. Four semi-finalists of last meet —- Abahani Limited, Muktijoddha Sangsad, Badda Jagarani and Mohammedan and the four group champions – Arambagh KS, Prantik KC, Shantinagar Club and Rahmatganj MFS - will play in the round robin league. Abahani Limited, Badda Jagarani, Arambagh KS and Shantinagar Club have been placed in Group A while Group B team comprises Muktijoddha Sangsad, Mohammedan SC, Prantik KC and Rahmatganj MFS. Top two teams from each group will play in the semi-finals to be held on August 25 and 26 at 6pm while the final match is billed for August 28, also at 6pm. Meanwhile, Bangladesh Football Federation has announced rates of ticket for the round robin league matches of the 16th Federation Cup Football. Price of ticket for the western gallery is Tk 15, eastern gallery Tk 10 and VIP ticket for gate number 2 and 3 is fixed at Tk 30 each. |
