Dhaka, May 12 (UNB) - The 21st Sher-e-Bangla Cup National Football Competition will begin across the country on Tuesday.

 

A total of 69 teams, including 64 District Sports Associations, the holders Dhaka University and different services teams, will take part in the competition.

 

The first round of the competition will be held at country’s ten regions with every region splitting into two groups while the 12-team final round will be held in Noakhali splitting into four groups.

 

Ten regional champion teams, defending champions Dhaka University and the final round host Noakhali will play in the final round.

 

The regions, teams and date of beginning of the competition are as follows:

 

Maulavibazar region: Maulabibazar, Sylhet, Sunamganj, Habiganj and Comilla, and match will begin on Monday.

 

Noakhali region: Feni, Chandpur, Chittagong, Rangamati, Bandarban, Khagrachari, Laxmipur and Cox’s Bazar. Competition will begin on Tuesday.

 

Bargona region: Bargona, Barisal, Patuakhali, Pirojpur, Bhola and Jhalakathi.

 

The Bagerhat region: Bagerhat, Narail, Meherpur, Chuadanga, Khulna, Magura and Satkhira and the matches will begin on May 17.

 

Dinajpur region: Dinajpur, Panchagar, Joypurhat, Lalmanirhat, Rangpur, Kurigram, Thakurgaon and Pabna, and matches will begin on May 18.

 

Noagaon region and service region matches will start from May 19.

 

Noagaon region: Noagaon, Gaibandha, Bogra, Rajshahi, Nilphamari, Natore, Chapainawabganj and Sirajganj. The competition will be kicked off on May 19.

 

Services team (at Army Stadium, Dhaka): Bangladesh Army, Bangladesh Navy, Bangladesh Air Force and Bangladesh Police, and matches will begin in May 19.

 

Gopalganj region: Gopalganj, Faridpur, Madaripur, Rajbari, Shriatpur, Jessore and Kushtia, and the matches will begin on May 20.

 

Narasinghdi region: Narsingdi, Narayanganj, Gazipur, Dhaka, Munshiganj, Bramhanbaria and Manikganj. The competition will begin on May 20.

 

The venue and date of another region comprising Jamalpur, Mymmensingh, Tangail, Kishorganj, Netrokona and Sherpur will be announced later as Mymensingh DSA expressed its inability to hold the
