Dhaka- (UNB) – Bangladesh national football team, which reached Dammam Monday midnight to play qualifying round of the World Cup Football, was given a warm reception by the expatriate Bangladeshis in Saudi Arabia.

All the players and officials of the Bangladesh squad are in sound health and good condition, according to a fax message received here sent by team leader and BFF joint secretary Sirajul Islam Bachchu yesterday.

Bangladesh will play against Vietnam in the inaugural match of the four-team Asian Group-10 on Thursday (Feb 8) at 3.30pm (Bangladesh time) at the Mohammad Bin Fahad Stadium in Dammam.

Bangladesh will take on host Saudi Arabia on Feb 10 at 5.30pm and Mongolia on Feb 12 at 3.30pm in the first leg matches. 

In the return-leg matches, Bangladesh will face Vietnam on February 15 at 3.30pm, Saudi Arabia on Feb 17 at 5.30pm and Mongolia on Feb 19 at 3.30pm (BST). 

Only the champions of the four-team fray will qualify for the Asian final round.

Meanwhile, the Mongolia team reached in the game venue on Sunday (Feb 4) while the Vietnam squad reached Dammam on Monday (Feb 5). The host Saudi Arabian team is in the game venue for last three weeks, Bangladesh leader added. 

Manager of Bangladesh team and BFF joint secretary Badal Roy, who failed to accompany the team on Monday, is expected to join the team very soon.
