Muktijoddha Sangsad beats holders Mohammedan 1-0 |

Dhaka-- (UNB) – Muktijoddha Sangsad KC again took a solo lead in the NBL Metropolis Premier Division Football League beating holders Mohammedan SC 1-0 in a nail biting super-four yesterday (Thursday). Substitute striker Farhad scored the match-winning goal for the freedom fighters team in the 68th minute in front of some 15,000 crowd at the floodlit Bangabandhu National Stadium this evening. With the day’s well merited victory, Muktijoddha SKC not only maintained their all-win record against Mohammedan SC in the season but also went ahead in the league race securing 35 points from 15 matches. Federation cup champions Abahani Limited and current league champions Mohammedan SC follow the league leaders jointly securing 33 points each from 15 encounters. Any of the three teams have a fair chance to clinch millenium soccer league title, if they earn two straight wins in their remaining two super-three matches among them. Muktijoddha cum national number one custodian Aminul, who displayed his excellence under the bar yesterdayfoiling a series of Mohammedan attempts, was adjudged the best player of the match to receive a prize money of Tk 5,000.
