Dhaka--(UNB) - Arambagh KS earned a comfortable 4-1 goals win against relegated-bound Badda Jagarani Sangsad in a ‘lower-six’ match of the NBL Metropolis Premier Division Football League at the floodlit Bangabandhu National Stadium yesterday (Tuesday).


With the day’s victory, Arambagh KS topped the list among the five other teams securing 23 points from 14 matches while Badda JS, which face relegation, remained at 12 points playing 14 ties.


Saiful Islam Khokon struck twice in the 29th and 77th minutes while Mujibar Rahman Ritu and K Wino scored one each in the 25th and 60th for Arambagh KS.


Shaheed netted the consolation goal for Badda in the 82nd minute.


Earlier in the day’s first match, Dhanmondi Club managed a hard fought 2-1 goals victory over Farashganj SC at the same venue this afternoon.


Mehdi Hasan Tapu put Dhanmondi Club ahead in the very second minute while Ruhul Amin of Farashganj restored the parity in the 41st minute.


Ashraful Qauder Manju scored the match-winning goal for Dhanmondi in the 63rd minute.


After the day’s match, Dhanmondi Club have so far collected 22 points and Farashganj SC 21 points playing 14 matches each.


Brothers Union will play the relegated team Victoria SC in today (Wednesday)’s lone match at 4pm at the same venue.
