Dhaka--(UNB) – The crucial super-four match of the NBL Premier Division Football League between Abahani Limited and Muktijoddha Sangsad takes on here today (Monday).

The second round match of the super-four kicks off at 3pm at the Bangabandhu National Stadium.

The popular sky-blue Abahani Limited is now in hot seat with five points behind the league leaders Muktijoddha Sangsad KC, who bagged 32 points from 13 matches.

The Dhanmondi outfit bounced back to the title race after a well-merited victory in their previous match over old foe Mohammedan SC, now in the second place with 30 points from 13 matches.

The Freedom fighters team, who started their league campaign with unhappy note, returned to the right track after beating two titans in the first phase.

But they lost their first round super-four match to Abahani Limited by tiebreaker.

Today’s match is vital for Abahani because they desperately need a win to keep their hope alive.

In another super-four match, defending champions Mohammedan Sporting Club takes on Rahamatganj MFS also today (Monday) at 5pm at the same venue.

Meanwhile, Farashganj Sporting Club crushed Victoria Sporting Club by 4-1 goals in the bottom-six match of the Premier Division Football League at the big bowl yesterday.

With the day’s win, the old city team increased their tally to 21 points while promotee Victoria SC, who already confirmed their demotion, still struggling with two points from 13 matches.

In the day’s match, Farashganj SC led the first half 1-0 when Ameka Anilifu scored five minuets ahead of the lemon break whistle.

Palash doubled the winners’ margin in the fourth minute of the second half while Bidyut netted third goal in the 63rd minute. Ashqar Babu scored last one for Farashganj while Hanif netted the consolation goal.
