Dhaka--(UNB) - Brothers Union Club earned a 1-0 goal victory over Badda Jagarani Sangsad in the bottom-six Premier Division League match at the Bangabandhu National Stadium yesterday (Saturday).


With the day's win, Brothers Union raised their tally to 17 points while Badda Jagarani bagged 12 points from 13 matches.


Basanta Thapa netted the all-important goal for the Gopibagh outfit in the 13th minute. Nepalese striker placed the ball on a Dalim cross when opposition defender Riad failed to clear the ball.


After the lemon break, winners got two chances but failed to increase their margin.


In the 10th minute, Basanta Thapa played wide from his compatriot Hari Khadka's pass while after a minute a header of Monir deflected from the cross bar.


But youthful Badda Jagarani dominated last thirty minutes creating pressure on the opposition territory but failed to earn any fruit for their poor finishing.


Earlier in the day's first match, Arambagh KS beat Dhanmondi Club by 3-2 goals in tiebreaker at the same venue.


With the day's two points, Arambagh KS secured 20 points while Dhanmondi Club bagged 19 points with the day's one point, both from 13 matches.


The match rolled into tiebreaker after a 2-2 draw in the regulation time.


After a barren first half, Khokon put Arambagh KS ahead in the ninth minute of the second half but Hanif Pradan scored equalizer for Dhanmondi in the 28th minute.


In the 80th minute, Mehedi Hasan Tapu netted second goal for the Dhanmondi Club and after three minutes Nigerian Winu leveled the margin for the winners.


Ritu, Nayan and Khokon scored for Arambagh while Shafiqul and Ikram netted for the Dhanmondi Club in the spot kick session.


Sunday's match: Farashganj SC vs Victoria SC (4pm).
