GALLE (AP) - Sri Lanka added 103 runs to its overnight score at a loss of two wickets, taking the lunchtime total Friday, on the second day of the first cricket test against South Africa, to 444 for seven wickets.


Mahela Jayawardene, overnight 78 not out, completed his century and was batting on 136. He faced 252 balls and hit 17 boundaries and two sixes.


Sri Lanka resumed batting on 341 for five wickets and lost the wickets of Kumara Dharmasenka on four. Soon after, Upul Chandana was out on eight.


At lunch, Chaminda Vaas was also not out on 27 with four boundaries.


Pre-lunch wickets were picked up by Shaun Pollock and Jacques Kallis.
