Dhaka (UNB) - Bangladesh juveniles suffered their third successive defeat in the Asian Under-15 Cricket Championship yesterday with a 7-wicket defeat against Pakistan at the Kilat ground in Malaysia.

 

Sent into bat first, Bangladesh made 131 runs for seven wickets in stipulated 40 overs riding on Mahmud Ullah’s 39 runs off 48 balls.

 

Anwar Hossain was the second highest scorer for Bangladesh making 15 runs while Kamrul Islam and Mohammed Rubaiyet added 14 runs each.

 

Mohammed Azfar Ali and Talal Zia wrecked the Bangladesh innings grabbing six wickets. Azfar claimed three wickets for 24 runs while Zia took three for 32 runs.

 

In reply, Pakistan easily reached their target of 132 runs losing three wickets in 26.2 overs. Syed Sultan Raza and Shahid Yousuf contributed 44 runs each while Masud Aslam Batt added 15 runs.

 

Shafaq-al Zabir, Mahmud Ullah and Arif Hossain of Bangladesh took one wicket each.

 

Mahmud Ullah was adjudged man of the match for his all round performance.

Bangladesh, who earlier lost to India and Sri Lanka, will play their next match against Hong Kong on Thursday.
