Dhaka, June 2 (UNB)- Lackluster performance in every department drugged hosts Bangladesh to suffer the most harmful defeat against Pakistan in the 7th Asia Cup Cricket Tournament at the Bangabandhu National Stadium today (Friday).

Bangladesh swallowed recorded biggest marginal 233-run defeat against Pakistan in the Asia Cup scoring their lowest score of 87 runs in 34.2 overs replying to towering 320 runs. Their earlier lowest score was 92 against Zimbabwe.

The earlier highest marginal 173-run defeat was also swallowed Bangladesh against same opponent in the Third Asia Cup.

More than thirty thousand cricket crazy fans were present at the big bowl with Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, which was so far highest attendance in the tournament, to enjoy the match but they left the bowl with a feeling of disappointment.

Pakistani promising right-handed opener Imran Nazir was adjudged man of the match for his aggressive 80 runs off 76 balls that featured seven boundaries and three over boundaries.

Bangladeshi willow holders fell into a big trouble facing hostile Pakistani bowling attacks and scored their lowest total in the one-day cricket -- 87 runs for nine wickets.

Shahriar Hossain Bidyut did not turn up at the crease due to his injury during fielding session.

Habibul Bashar Sumon opened the innings and was the top scorer for home side making 23 runs while Mushfiqur Rahman added 12 runs.

Abdur Razzak was the most successful bowler picking up three wickets for only five runs while Azhar Mahmood took two for 22 runs.

Earlier, Pakistani batsmen went on the rampage as they amassed 320 for three wickets against Bangladesh in 50 overs in the fourth match of the Asia Cup tournament on Friday.

Young opener Imran Nazir, Yousuf Youhana and Inzamam-ul-Haq showed no signs of jet lag as they flogged the impulsive

Bangladeshi bowling attack.

Nazir and Youhana scored 80 runs each while

Inzamam-ul-Haq remained not out 75.

Bangladesh, after losing badly the first two matches against Sri Lanka and India, found it extremely hard to contain Pakistan.
