Dhaka, May 15 (UNB)- Sri Lanka will extend its total support to Bangladesh in getting much-awaited Test Status during the next ICC meeting to be held in London in June next.

The assurance came from Sri Lankan Minister for Sports and Youth Affairs DMSB Dissanayake during a meeting with visiting State Minister for Youth and Sports Obaidul Quader in Colombo, according to a message received here today (Monday).

Quader thanked the Sri Lankan Minister for his country’s unstinted support to Bangladesh in the last ICC meeting and invited him to enjoy the Pepsi Asia Cup tournament beginning here on May 28.

Dissanayake warmly received the invitation.

The two ministers also exchanged views on bilateral issues and expressed hope that introducing direct flight between Dhaka and Colombo would further promote relations between the two countries.

Bangladesh Ambassador to Sri Lanka Ashraf-ud-Doula and BCB secretary general Sayed Ashraful Huq, among others, were present in the meeting.
