Dhaka, Apr 24 (UNB) – Bangladesh Cricket Board initially picked up 25 players today (Monday) to form a national team for the four-nation 7th Pepsi Asia Cup Cricket 2000 beginning in Dhaka May 28. 

Hosts Bangladesh will take on Sri Lanka in the opening match on May 28 (Sunday), meet India on May 30 (Tuesday) and face Pakistan on June 2 (Friday) at the Bangabandhu National Stadium.  

Selected cricketers 

Javed Omar Belim Gulla, Shahriar Hossain Biddyut, Mehrab Hossain Opee, Aminul Islam Bulbul, Akram Khan, Habibul Bashar Sumon, Khaled Mashud Pilot, Mizanur Rahman Babul (wicket keeper), Muktar Siddiqui (wicket keeper), Khaled Mahmood Sujan, Mushfiqur Rahman Babu, Al Shahriar Rokon, Naimur Rahman Durjoy, Enamul Haq Moni, Mohammad Rafique, Sabbir Khan, Hasibul Hossain Shanta, Monjurul Islam, Bikash Ranjan Das, Shafiuddin Ahmed Babu, Rajin Saleh Alam, Aminul Islam Bhola, Nasirul Alam, Fahim Muntasir Sumit and Halim Shah.

The players have been asked to report to the Director of Coaching, Eddie Barlow, at the BCB office on Wednesday (April 26) at 5 pm.
