ST. JOHN'S, ANTIGUA, APR 10 (AP) - The West Indies Select lost its last

six wickets for 34 runs to collapse to a 14-run defeat at the hands of Pakistan in the second one-day cricket practice match at the Recreation Ground here Sunday.

Pakistan, led by an even half century from Mohammad Wasim, scored 183 for nine off 50 overs after winning the toss. The home team was cruising along at 135 for three before they faltered to 169 all out off 40.3 overs. Ramnaresh Sarwan topscored with 47.

Fast bowler Mohammad Akram took four for 28 off nine overs, while off-spinner Shoaib Malik sliced through the tail to finish with three for 31 off 10 overs.

The 19-year-old Sarwan and Runako Morton added 70 for the fifth wicket to put the Select XI on top. But Mohammad Akram broke the stand with a leg before verdict against Morton.

Shoaib Malik confused the lower order before Irfan Fazil picked up the key wicket of Sarwan.

Wicket-keeper Atiq-uz-Zaman, the backup to tour captain Moin Khan, was put in doubt for the rest of the trip after straining ligaments in his side when taking a catch to dismiss Wilden Cornwall. Atiq was taken to hospital for analysis after receiving treatment on and off the field.

Mohammad Wasim replaced Atiq behind the stumps and carried out a stumping.

Pakistan plays the West Indies in the fourth match when the triangular Cable and Wireless Trophy resumes on Wednesday in Arnos Vale, St. Vincent.
