Javed Omar Blim hammered his second ton in the Janakantha Premier Division Cricket League to throttle holders Bangladesh Biman to a huge 132-run win over Agrain Bank at the Bangabandhu National Stadium Yesterday.

With this win, their seventh from as many matches, Biman took the solo lead in the 12-team League.

The diminutive national opener scored exactly 100 as the national airline outfit, opting to bat after winning the toss, piled up a commanding 239 for seven in the stipulated 50 overs.

Agrani Bank, in their chase, were bundled out for only 107 in only 34 overs with national captain Aminul Islam playing unexpected role as the wreck-in-chief with a haul of four wickets.

Javed, who earned the distinction of being the only local batsman to score a century against Victoria (102 not out), continued his superb from much to the relief of Biman, who had to field an-all local side in absence of their Pakistani duo including the Linchpin Manzoor Elahi.

Javed's one was the 9th century in the League following another ton from a Pakistani player on the day at the Dhanmondi Cricket Stadium, where Fahad Khan scored 100 for Victoria against Ghopibagh Friends.

Javed put on 160 runs for the second wicket with Habibul Basher after his captain and opening partner Faruque Ahmed fell for only 8.

Reached his 50 off 75 balls, Javed hammered 11 fours in his 145-ball knock before becoming the fifth batsman out in the 48th overs with Biman comfortably placed at 219. Javed's latest effort took his aggregate score to 424 from seven games with an average of 84.8.

Although Javed stole the thunder on the day, Basher scored an equally impressive 74 off only 84 balls that included nine hits across the rope. But Aminul continued his run drought as the dapper all-rounder scored only five before turning a full toss from young leg-spinner Mosaddek hossain into a simple catch at cover.

Mosaddek, who also captured the prized scalp of Javed, was the most successful among the Agrani Bank's bowlers with four for 48 in his nine overs.

Agrani Bank, who are yet to win a match, however never looked comfortable in their chase. They lost wickets at regular intervals whenever their batsmen tried to break the biman shackles spread around by the spinning quartet of Ziaur Rashid, Shariful Haq, Faruq Iqbal and Aminul Islam.

Biman captain Faruque had to bank on his spinner after Agrani opener Faisal mercilessly hit the left right combination of Jahngir Talukder and Aminul Islam out of the ground on his way to a 30ball 25. The change of pace did the trick and off-spinner Ziaur Rashid dismissed a menacingly poised Faisal in seventh over.

One-down Mofizul Islam scored a defiant 23. But once he was out Agrani Bank innings finished in no time.
