Sharjah, United Arab Emirates, Mar 24: Lance Klusener grabbed four wickets in 11 balls as South Africa restricted Pakistan to 196 for eight from 50 overs in the Sharjah Cup here on Friday, reports AFP.

Pakistan, who have not beaten the South Africans in their last 13 one-dayars, faltered after a promising start from young guns Imran Nazir and Younis Khan.

Nazir, the 18-year-old opener who played in the recent junior World Cup in Sri Lanka, slammed three sixes and five boundaries in his 71.

Younis, who scored a Test century on debut against Sri Lanka last month, contributed 48.

the pair put on 115 for the second wicket to lift Pakistan to 129-1 when Klusener steppes in to make it 145-5.

The all-rounder finished with 5-47 as Pakistan last their last seven wickets in the space of 67 runs.

Klusener began the slid by removing Nazir and captain Moin Khan off successive balls in the 37th over, but was denied a hat-trick by Inzamamul Haq.

Klusener was again on a hat-trick when he dismissed Younis off the last ball of his sixth over and had Inzamam caught  behind with the first of his seventh.

Klusener ended his spell by bowling Yousuf Youhana for 15, which reduced Pakistan to 165 for six in the 43rd over.

South Africa, who beat India by 10 wickets in Wednesday's opener, face a target of less than four runs an over against the depleted Pakistanis.

Pakistan, already missing the injured trio of Saeed Anwar, saqlin Mushtaq and Azhar Mahmood, suffered further blows when fast bowler Wasim Akram and Shoaib Akhtar pulled out of the match with groin injuries.

Pakistan lost to arch-rivals India by five wickets on Thursday.
