Dhaka-- (UNB) - Veteran Enamul Haq Moni continued his wreckage in the National Cricket League to help Chittagong Division restrict Khulna for 211 runs in their first innings at the Comilla Stadium yesterday (Wednesday).


The left-arm spinner hauled six wickets wrapping up Khulna Division’s top order conceding only 44 runs in his 26-over spell to extend his tally to 50 as the leading wicket-taker in the Green Delta league.


Test cap Moni got good support from Pakistani spinner Shahed Mehmood who demolished the opposition tail taking three wickets for 48 runs while captain Minhajul Abedin Nannu captured one for 13.


In reply, defending champions Chittagong Division scored 51 runs for one wicket in 16 overs when the bails were drawn for the first day of the four-day match.


Ahmed Kamal Colonel earned the only success for Khulna dismissing Azam Iqbal who returned to the pavilion with duck.


Pakistani all rounder Shahed Mehmood and Seezan were batting with 30 and 15 runs respectively.


Earlier, riding on a patient 81-run innings by Shaon, Khulna Division were all out for 211 runs in 76.3 overs after sent into bat first.


Shaon and Setu made cautious start for Khulna Division but after the dismissal of the pair on 33 runs, the southern division team lost four more wickets within 41 runs.


Opener Shaon and Rana repaired the damage associating 75 runs in the sixth wicket stand and helped Khulna Division to reach 200-mark.


Shaon hammered eight boundaries facing 181 balls to make team highest 81 runs while Rana added 41 runs off 125 balls with six hits across the rope.


Number eight batsman Imran was the other notable scorer for Khulna making 30 off 48 deliveries with three boundaries.
