Dhaka-- (UNB) – Pepsi First Division Cricket League, organised by Pabna District Sports Association, begins at the Government Edward College in Pabna Tuesday.


Twelve teams, split into two groups, will take part in the first division league.


Group A: Ekota Sporting Club, Radhanagar KC, PYC (Green), Jugantar KS, ICC and Sangram. Group B: Nimtala Crazy Club, PYC (White), Ekota Sangha, Abhijatri Cricket Club, Trainees Sporting Institute and Renaissance.


State Minister for Information Prof Abu Sayeed will inaugurate the meet.


Pepsi earned the sponsor right giving Tk 2 lakh to the organisers, said Pabna DSA joint,secretary Shahidul Haq Manik at a press briefing at the BCB conference room at the Bangabandhu National Stadium yesterday.


GQ Chowdhury, executive director of sponsor Transcom Beverage Limited, informed newsmen that they would also extend support to four more districts ,,Mymensingh, Rangpur, Jessore and Comilla –, like Pabna.


Executive member of the Pabna DSA Anjon Chowdury Pintto said the press briefing organised in Dhaka to get more exposure for the international brand.


Pepsi country director Alok Malik hinted that they would try to be associated with the country’s other games and “this is just a beginning for us.”


Other officials of the Pabna District Sports Association were also present at the briefing.
